Course Description

If you already know the basics of the Korean Language and you want to learn more, than this is the course for you. In this course you will continue on your learning journey, recapping on the basics and taking them one step further.

• Practice everyday conversations.
• Expand your vocabulary beyond basic phrases.
• Gain confidence using essential grammar patterns.

Prerequisite 

• Students who have completed the Basic Korean course at Rutherford or elsewhere.
• Those who can read Hangul (the Korean alphabet) comfortably, even if slowly.

Course Fee Subsidy

This course is subsided by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency, or refugee status to our staff for sighting purposes.

The tuition fee is $100 for Non-Residents.

Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.

Course Prerequisites

Prerequisite:  Ideally you would have already completed a beginners class with Jinny, however if you have studied elsewhere please contact us to discuss your current skill and knowledge level. Students entering this course should already be able to understand simple reading and writing as well as casual conversation
