This relaxed, open-format sewing class is perfect for sewists with some experience who want support while working on their own projects. Bring everything you need for your chosen make—washed fabric, pattern, thread, interfacing, and your sewing kit—and enjoy personalised help, practical advice, and plenty of tips and tricks.
One student described it as “dedicated sewing time with moral support,” which sums it up beautifully.
This class is also ideal if you’d like guidance on alterations, pattern drafting, or simple garment cloning.
Course Fee Subsidy
This course is subsided by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
If you have never operated a sewing machine, we suggest that you start with the Sewing for Beginners course that is offered on a Tuesday night and provides step-by step lessons on simple projects
