Course Description
A general open, hands-on practical workshop looking into modern technology and the digital world.
What Will You Gain?
The topics covered will include emails, WhatsApp, internet searching, mapping software, new technology, and buzzwords.
You will also learn how to clean your history and trackers, unsubscribe, and make your browsing private. How to safely backup and clear out your devices of all the photos/videos that have filled up the memory, and then optimise the devices to run faster again by clearing cache, temporary files, etc.
Course Materials
The tutor provides soft copies of supportive materials. The cost of materials is included in the course fee.
Course Prerequisites
It is recommended that you bring your laptop along this workshop.
In addition, prepare a question related with the course topic. Our kaiako/tutor Allan will also endeavour to cover any other topics and questions from Äkonga/students.
Course Fee Subsidy
This course is subsided by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency, or refugee status to our staff for sighting purposes.
For Non- Resident students, there will be a surcharge of NZD$99.
Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
