Description

A certificated course (through the Auckland Schools' Community Education Association) for those tutoring (or wishing to start tutoring) adults in a community setting which covers: the learning climate, characteristics of adult learners, group dynamics, course planning and evaluation.

Please note that you are expected to attend the full course to be eligible for the certificate so you must make sure that you are on time and present for both days.

By the end of the course, you'll have:

1. gained confidence in your ability to facilitate a group

2. discussed adult learning styles and their relationship to tutoring

3. acquired skills for creating a positive learning experience

4. completed a practical exercise in course development, task analysis and lesson presentation

5. completed an evaluation exercise

A refund will only be considered if written application is received 5 working days prior to the original course commencement date. If granted, a $25 admin. charge will be deducted.

If, under exceptional circumstances, there is a need to transfer to a future course, then it is understood this will be permitted once only and take place within 3 months of the original course date.

Please note:  All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
