Experience the art of jewellery making in this beginners course that provides an introduction to the jewellers workshop and basic hand skills. From the first class it will be a hands-on experience at the jewellers bench. Each bench is well equipped with the individual tools needed for the course. Your tutor will help you work confidently, by covering a variety of manufacturing techniques like piercing, filing, annealing, soldering, texturing, & polishing; skills you can practice & use in your own designs. The course fee Includes all materials required to complete two projects, as well as coffee & tea during a compulsory 15 minute break.

The course is held off site at the Jewellers Collective, Unit 2, 28 Clark Street New Lynn, (entrance off Ward Street) · During the first lesson, they will cover Health & Safety requirements in their induction programme "New HandS in the Workshop" regarding the use of workshop facilities and your participation in the class. · Every week you will be required to bring: A bib apron, wear closed toe shoes, and have any, long hair tied up. · You are also welcome to bring your hand-tools, metals, gems, or projects, if you have them.

Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
