Course Description

Communicate more effectively in English for everyday life. Talk about your culture, current events, and whats happening around town with more fluency. Improve your speaking skills and vocabulary through interesting conversations. Lessons focus on everyday situations and topics, fine-tuning your listening skills and working on your speaking. Two evenings per week.  

What Will You Gain?

  • Improve comprehension of written and spoken texts
  • Gain grammatical knowledge, for example phrasal verbs and perfect tenses
  • Feel more confident to speak English in different situations.
  • Increase their store of formal and informal vocabulary items
  • Can decode unknown or unfamiliar vocabulary items and correctly pronounce them

Course Prerequisite Conditions

Students must complete a level placement test on enrolment. (A link to the test will be provided in the course instructions once payment is received.)

Course Fee Subsidy

This course is subsided by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency, or refugee status to our staff for sighting purposes.

$85 for Work Visa / $143 for Non-Residents
