  • Students must be committed to attending 80% of classes
  • Students must be 16 years or older
  • An administration fee of $30 per course applies
  • Extra fees apply for PELTS students, Work Visa holders and Non-Residents. Please contact our office for details. 

 

Rutherford Community Education ESOL courses are recognized by The English for Migrants Programme (PELT) and WINZ.

 Level  Description
Level 1           Beginner Level - Learners have little or no exposure to English. Great difficulty understanding spoken or written  English.
Level 2  Elementary Level - Some basic, often inaccurate communication is used in simple, familiar situations only. Often requires assistance and frequently misunderstands.
Level 3  Pre-intermediate Level - Coping with general meaning only in familiar situations. Communication breaks down often.
 Level 4   Intermediate Level - Coping with general meaning in most situations but still makes frequent mistakes. Use appropriate formality, both face-to-face and on the telephone. Inaccurate but increasingly complex language is used.
